I did, and when I got the replacement unit, the same exact issue occured to that one. Eventually after a painstaking hour, I was advised to exchange the defective unit. ASUS tech support wasn’t very knowledgeable, and appeared to be going over scripted technical support steps. After some time of trouble shooting, I finally broke down to contact ASUS and see if this is a known issue. Whenever I attempted to update to the latest graphics driver from nVidia’s website I would get an error saying there was no compatible hardware found. There is an issue with the nVidia GTX670MX and the ASUS G75VX along with Windows 8. Onto driver support, there was one major flaw in the model that I had used. Just to clarify, I think Windows 8 is a great touch screen innovation, but lacks proper desktop functionality that is in somewhat necesary. Since the laptop has Windows 8, this is a true downfall to the ASUS G75 lineup. Microsoft Windows 8 comes bundled with the ASUS G75VX Republic of Gamers laptop and while the touch gesture has come along way on touch pads, there is still alot of work that needs to go into the movement of them. While at first I was surprised at how well the ASUS G75VX Republic of Gamers laptop handled PC gaming, I was even more surprised at how it handled productivity suites. The Intel i7 3630QM proved to be just as powerful as it’s desktop brother chips. While I was able to play Battlefield 3 at ultra settings, I was also able to fire up multiple programs at the same time with minimal performance affected. The laptop is designed with the gamer in mind, but it doesn’t leave the multi tasker without room to work with programs like Photoshop as well. The ASUS G75VX is probably one of the best preforming desktop replacements that I have ever messed with.
